What's Islamic Awareness Week?
Islamic Awareness Week (IAW) is typically a week long “get to know Islam and Muslims” campaign that occurs across many university campuses in and outside of Australia. This campaign includes a string of lectures that are especially catered towards non-Muslims who are interested in knowing more about Islam and issues that are related to it. On top of that, there are many other activities that surround the lectures during the week such as the dawah stall where non-Muslims, students and staff alike, can meet and discuss with Muslims on campus. These stalls normally have free literature and pamphlets for people to take, and if you’re lucky enough, free food.
This year, SUMSA has organised an IAW to run for a week and a half at the University of Sydney. This is simply due to the fact that there is a lot to talk about when it comes to Islam. IAW09 will be in week 3 to mid week 4 (10th - 19th August). Check out our IAW schedule to see what we have lined up. Stay tuned to find out the exact location of our dawah stall and don’t be afraid to drop by to say hello.

We would like to first give praise and thanks to Allah Almighty. All the khayr (good) that comes from this endevour is certainly from Him. Secondly, we would like to thank the backbone, arms and legs of SUMSA, the many Sumsarians who have and will continue to volunteer their time and effort for His sake. Thanks guys!
