HUMAN BIOLOGY for first year pharmacy

Salams,

Does anyone have any particular advice on how to deal with this human biology unit? Particularly in terms of the different systems, names of different structures (e.g. bones) and their functions, do we need to know all of these? My question basically is: how much do we NEED to know??? so that just in case u say everything, the stress will be worthwhile!! :):)

Why hello!

NOOO U don't need to learn ALL the bones for the final exam. Just learn the main ones like i mean the image of the skeleton with the major bones.

Learn the kidney (major plus if you did HSC biology)

Learn the EYE and how information is sent

PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THE LECTURERS EMPHASISE! I swear they gave out 75% of the exam in lectures... Murray Thompson makes it pretty obvious. Last time we had a "forensic" question in a lecture (Guy with a european accent forgot his name) and the exact same question was in the exam.

In the end DON'T be scared... I reccommend you go to all HUMAN bio lectures... it makes the exam a whole lot easier. Pay attention to the lecture outcomes.... dont learn anything more or anything less.

JazakillAhu kheir for ur advice which is definietly something ill be needing, so basically learn the lecture outcomes, and obviously do a looot of reading before or after the lecture u reckon? If u could provide me with a sketch of how u studied for this unit, it would be hektik!

The HBONLINE has objective written in the beginning of each section.
Those are I think syllabus points so answer those ..

firstly besides da fact dat bio absolutly rocks- plz notice da sarcasm, there is no point in learning each darn bone, wat u should concentrate on though are da short answer questions in HbOnline and if they still give u quizes after each lab, MCQs are def out of there- nd dat is wat my lovely frends told me AFTER da exam so good luck...

I used to hate bio subjects, they don't scale as well as maths either-for human bio u just memorise the HBonline stuff-they just repeat stuff from there. Also make it one or the other-u can go for just textbook in which u go to no lectures or u concetrate only on lectures and nothing else. But first year biology is fully dodgy-u guys didn't have to do concepts in biology-absolutely stuffed. Learnt about plants, fungi, deforesation, forensics, Moelcular biology stuff. The onyl thing they didn't throw in was like michael jackson's "Thriller" and of course peter garrett.

lOll this was a post i made last year hehehe its actually not that bad towards the end the exams pretty easy so dont stress:D when u do MBLG then u should stress:P
